Strawberries and Cream Jell-O Salad is simple to make, uses very few ingredients, is creamy and delicious. It is a perfect side dish for dinner.
Welcome to our family recipe blog, where we share our favorite recipes. Some are easy some are a little less easy but, we love them all. There are hundreds of recipes here for you to browse through. We had to take a Jell-O salad to a dinner-this is the one I took this time. I doubled the recipe and placed it into a large rectangular foil pan that I bought at the dollar store. I knew I wanted to top the entire thing with Cool Whip (I used one and a half eight ounce container of Cool Whip for the top). However, knowing I wanted to top the whole thing and needed space to cover the salad-I didn’t use it all. So, I used some of the Jell-O-actually two single serve bowls, to use up some of the Jell-O salad. Unfortunately, I forgot these bowls of salad in my refrigerator for five days. I was very pleased to see that this salad did not separate or break down like some Jell-O salads do after that many days or less. I had to throw it out of course but, it was still set. This salad holds up well!
Ingredients Needed For Strawberries and Cream Jell-O Salad
1 cup water
6 ounces strawberry Jell-O gelatin
2 cups frozen strawberries, thawed and puréed
8 ounces Cool Whip whipped topping
Extra Cool Whip whipped topping or Reddi Wip for the top and fresh strawberries, if desired
Instructions For Strawberries and Cream Jell-O Salad:
- Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan-large enough to fit water, Jell-O, pureed strawberries and Cool Whip and be able to stir it.
2. Remove sauce pan from the heat and stir in the strawberry Jell-O gelatin. Stir until dissolved.
3. When gelatin has dissolved, stir in the puréed strawberries.
4. After the mixture is combined well, stir in Cool Whip whipped topping. Stir very well.
5. Pour into a two-quart dish or individual serving dishes, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate until set. I make this the night before I am going to serve it. This Jell-O salad holds up well.
Note: Use a smaller baking dish-this photo does NOT show a 9 x 13 baking dish, even though it may look like it-use a 2-quart baking dish or single serve bowls.
Garnish as desired when serving and enjoy this wonderfully flavored Jelly-O salad!
We like to top it with more Cool Whip or if I use individual serving bowls, I use Reddi Wip. It is also fun to serve fresh strawberries with this Jell-O salad recipe.
