Ingredients Needed For Parmesan Basil Orzo:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 14.5 ounce can chicken broth
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup fresh basil, chopped or sliced 
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan, not the powder

Instructions For Parmesan Basil Orzo:

  1. Place butter and Orzo into a sauce pan. Melt the butter and brown the orzo for 3-4 minutes. Stir frequently.
  2. Slowly add the chicken broth and add the salt.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and cover.
  4. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until liquid is absorbed. Stir enough to not let this mixture burn. 
  5. Remove from the heat and add the basil and freshly grated Parmesan cheese. Stir.
  6. Serve and enjoy!
