We make guacamole all year long, however, it is so fun to make in the summer. We grow tomatoes, jalapeños, Anaheim peppers, cilantro, and red onion, too.

Sometimes when I make this, I will not put all of the jalapeños, red pepper flakes, and Anaheim peppers in to begin with. If little children are joining our dinner, I will remove some of the guacamole for them and then put the remaining jalapeños, red pepper flakes, and peppers in for the adults. If you can get kids to eat this as a dip, Yay vegetables! It is often difficult to get kids to eat vegetables. I have always tried different ways of hiding vegetables in the food we eat.

Sometimes when I want more heat in this recipe, I will add even more red pepper flakes.

Ingredients

  • 4 ripe avocados peeled and pits removed
  • 2 jalapenos seeds removed
  • 1 Anaheim pepper seeds removed
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 3/4 bunch cilantro
  • 1 lime juiced
  • salt to taste
  • tomatoes diced, if desired
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes or more to taste

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender. Blend until smooth.

  2. If you like more heat, add more red pepper flakes.

  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, if desired.

  4. Enjoy!!
