Garlic Mushroom Cheesy Bread is a simple and delicious side for pasta dishes. It just takes a loaf of French bread, mushrooms, cheese, and some seasonings to make this yummy side. We love Pizza Factory’s mushroom garlic bread and wanted to make our own.

Mushrooms are one of my favorite vegetables. Not everyone in my family loves them but, sometimes I get to have my favorites, too. 😊 I made a regular garlic bread for those mushroom haters, everyone was happy.

Ingredients Needed for Garlic Mushroom Cheesy Bread:

1 loaf of French Bread, cut in half

2 cups fresh mushrooms, washed and sliced

1/2 cup butter, softened not melted

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated

1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tsp dried parsley

1/4 cup parmesan cheese (Kraft)

Instructions for Garlic Mushroom Cheesy Bread:

Wash and slice mushrooms. Set aside.

Soften butter then mix in garlic powder, salt, parsley and parmesan cheese.

Cut French bread in half lengthwise and place pieces on a large baking sheet covered with parchment paper if you would like to help with clean up-but, not necessary.

Spread mixed garlic butter onto the halved pieces of French bread.

Leave oven rack in the middle and turn the broiler on high. Place the baking sheet in the oven and broil for 2 minutes-just to melt the butter and begin browning the edges.

Remove pan from the oven and turn the broiler off and heat the oven to 350 degrees.

Lay the sliced mushrooms on the French bread pieces. Lay the mushrooms in a single layer but cover all of the area on both pieces of the French bread.

Place the bread back in the oven at 350 degrees for 12 minutes.

Remove the pan from the oven and return the oven to high broil.

Sprinkle the grated mozzarella cheese on top of the bread and then sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on the very top.

Place the pan and garlic bread back into the oven on high broil with the oven rack still in the middle position. Heat just one and a half minutes, to melt the cheese.

Remove from the oven and enjoy with your favorite pizza, or pasta dish-whatever you choose. Or eat it alone, it is delicious!
