Homemade Root Beer is a fun and yummy beverage. The kids will love watching the dry ice carbonate the root beer. This is a perfect beverage for summer barbecues and Halloween. #RootBeer #Beverages #Halloween #Homemade #FourthOfJuly #Holiday

We have been making this Homemade Root Beer recipe for the Fourth of July, Father’s Day, and my father’s birthday every year since I was a kid. It’s fun to make and really good. It’s also really good with vanilla ice cream for a root beer float.

Kids will love to watch you make this. It looks like a witch’s brew. It’s a great idea for Halloween. Just don’t let the kids or anyone else touch the dry ice. Make sure you use thick leather gloves when handling it-if you are going to handle it. The store you purchase the dry ice from will normally put the dry ice in a brown paper bag. When I get it home, I break it up with a hammer while it is still it the bag. Then, I dump it in the container that I am making the root beer in, without touching it. Be careful, it can burn your skin. Watch closely that the kids do not touch it.

Ingredients Needed For Homemade Root Beer:

2 ounce bottle Root Beer Concentrate

3  1/2 pounds sugar

3 1/2 gallons cold water (56 cups)

5 pounds dry ice (be careful not to touch dry ice-wear gloves) Dry ice dissipates quickly so buy it just before making the root beer.

How to Make Homemade Root Beer:

In a large sauce pan, bring all of the sugar and one gallon of water to a boil to dissolve the sugar.

Allow the sugar mixture to cool and then refrigerate the sugar water. Make this hours before you make the root beer-so it will have time to chill. You can even make it the day before to make sure it is very cold.

When ready to make root beer, combine sugar water, remaining water, and root beer concentrate in at least a five gallon container (I use a five gallon Igloo insulated jug with a spout). Mix.

Break up the dry ice with a hammer or something that will break it up. Do not touch it with your bare skin.

Then, add the broken up dry ice carefully. Let dry ice bubble for 15-20 minutes (until dry ice is gone). DO NOT put a lid on the container and DO NOT touch dry ice. Enjoy!

Cook’s Notes:

Dry ice dissipates very quickly, even when it is stored in the freezer. Buy it just before you are going to use it or buy extra.

Do not touch dry ice!

You have to ask the cashier at grocery stores for dry ice. They will weigh it out for you and put it in a bag.

Caribbean Chicken is a flavorful and delicious marinade recipe for grilled chicken. There are eleven ingredients that go into the marinade. All of which are probably in your kitchen right now. They give the grilled chicken an incredible flavor.

Chicken and Pork Kabobs are fun to make and yummy to eat. The marinade for the pork and chicken is delicious. The grilled chicken, pork and vegetables are great with rice or on their own. When we put these kabobs or any other kabobs together, everyone gets to make their own. Everyone gets just what they want on their kabobs and all they want of what they like.

Sweet and Spicy Grilled Chicken another great marinade for chicken you will love. The brown sugar in the marinade makes the chicken sweet and the sriracha gives it some spice. Try it for your next barbecue.

Loaded Baked Potato Salad is a great side for barbecues-great with chicken, beef, or pork. The recipe calls for red potatoes, green onions, bacon, sour cream, and ranch dressing. These ingredients taste great together. You’ll love it.

Delicious Grilled Vegetables are just that-delicious. The grill makes so many foods so much better-more flavorful. There are many great grilling trays and baskets that will help you grill vegetables without losing your vegetables through the grill grates.
