Cheesy Spinach and Shells

You’ll start this Cheesy Spinach and Shells recipe out by cooking the pasta and mixing the ingredients together for the cheesy sauce in a separate bowl. Next you’ll combine the pasta, cheese mixture and a portion of the fried onions.

Pour the pasta into an 8×8 baking dish. Cover the dish with foil and bake it for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from the oven and add the remainder of the onions and bake for 5 more minutes to get them nice and toasty.

Cheesy Spinach and Shells

An easy pasta dish full of spinach, cheese, and crispy onions.

Ingredients

  • cups small shells
  • cups cooked spinach drained and cut into smaller pieces
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ tsp. garlic powder
  • tsp. salt
  • tsp. pepper
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 cup cheddar jack cheese grated
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese grated
  • cups french fried onions divided

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine spinach, egg, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cheeses.

  3. Stir in the pasta and 1/2 cup of the french fried onions.

  4. Spray an 8×8 pan with non stick cooking spray and pour the pasta mixture into it.

  5. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

  6. Remove from the oven and take the foil off. Add the rest of the french fried onions (1 cup) to the top.

  7. Return to the oven for 5 more minutes.
