Ingredients Needed for Pumpkin Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting:

Cookie Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter, room temperature

1/4 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

1 egg

2 2/3 cup flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice

3/4 cup canned pumpkin (I prefer Libby’s brand)

1/4 cup sour cream

Frosting Ingredients:

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup butter, room temperature

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

1 cup powdered sugar

Ground cinnamon

Directions:

Combine butter, shortening, and sugar until smooth with a hand mixer or stand mixer.

Add egg and blend.

Slowly add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pumpkin pie spice.

Blend to combine.

Fold in pumpkin and sour cream just until combined.

Drop cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes.

Allow time for the cookies to cool before frosting them.

Frosting Directions:

Blend softened cream cheese and butter together using a mixer until smooth and creamy.

Add vanilla and powered sugar and combine with mixer.

Frost pumpkin cookies and dust with a little ground cinnamon.
