Korean Pork

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pound pork loin cooked and shredded
  • Rice prepared
  • sesame seeds optional

Sauce Ingredients:

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 3 tsp crushed red pepper flakes less if less heat is desired

Instructions

  1. Cook pork loin in a slow cooker for 4-5 hours.

  2. When pork loin has cooked through, remove from slow cooker and shred. Then, add to the sauce.

  3. Prepare rice so it is ready when the pork loin is ready.

Sauce Instructions:

  1. About 10 minutes before the pork loin is cooked through, place all of the sauce ingredients in a sauce pan.

  2. Bring sauce ingredients to a boil, stirring frequently so sauce does not burn.

  3. When sugar has dissolved and sauce has thickened, add shredded pork and stir to combine.

  4. Serve over rice and top with sesame seeds, if desired.

  5. NOTE: if using our baked rice (link in post) half of the baked rice recipe was enough for this size of pork loin.
