A simple and easy bread recipe.
In a Bosch mixer (or whatever standing mixer you use to make bread), add warm water.
Sprinkle yeast over the warm water and then sprinkle the sugar over the yeast. Allow mixture to sit for 5 minutes.
Add flour and salt. Mix for 5 minutes until dough is smooth.
Cover with a towel and let dough rise for 30 minutes in a warm place. Dough should double in size.
After the 30 minutes, Place dough on a floured surface, divide dough into two pieces. Form two long French Bread shaped loaves using just enough flour to be able to work with the dough-about 3 tablespoons-just as needed.
Twist dough up-starting with the smaller end. Twist until it is spiraled and tapered off at each end. Pop any air bubbles that appear. Another option is, just form the loaves without twisting.
Place on a greased baking sheet or cover baking sheet with parchment paper.
Using a sharp knife and a little flour on the knife, as needed, cut three diagonal slits it the top of each loaf. Cover with a light dish towel.
Allow to rise for 30-40 minutes, until doubled in size.
Mix egg white and 1/2 tablespoon of water well-with a fork. Brush egg mixture over the top and sides of the loaves, carefully.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool and enjoy.
