Pumpkin Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

Cookie Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup butter room temperature
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 2/3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin canned
  • 1/4 cup sour cream

Frosting Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup butter room temperature
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ground cinnamon

Instructions

Cookie Instructions:

  1. Combine butter, shortening, and sugar until smooth and creamy-using a hand or stand mixer.

  2. Add egg and blend.

  3. Slowly add flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and pumpkin pie spice. Mix well.

  4. Fold in canned pumpkin and sour cream until just combined.

  5. Drop cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet.

  6. Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes.

  7. Allow time to cool before frosting the cookies.

Frosting Instructions:

  1. Blend softened cream cheese and butter using a mixer, until smooth and creamy.

  2. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Mix well.

  3. Frost pumpkin cookies with cream cheese frosting and dust with ground cinnamon.
