Homemade Root Beer

A delicious homemade root beer.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces McCormick Root Beer Concentrate or another brand
  • 3 1/2 pounds sugar
  • 3 1/2 gallons cold water (56 cups)
  • 5 pounds dry ice

Instructions

  1. Bring all of the sugar and 1 gallon of water to boil to dissolve the sugar. Let cool and refrigerate until chilled.

  2. When ready to make root beer, combine sugar water, remaining water, and root beer concentrate in at least a five gallon container. Mix.

  3. Add dry ice carefully. Let dry ice bubble for 15-20 minutes (until it dissolves).

  4. DO NOT put a lid on the container and DO NOT touch the dry ice.

  5. Enjoy!!
