A cheesy and delicious garlic bread recipe to go with your favorite Italian dishes.
Soften butter and add garlic powder, salt, parsley and parmesan cheese. Stir until well blended to make the garlic butter.
Wash and slice mushrooms. Set aside.
Slice French bread in half lengthwise and place on a large baking sheet.
Spread garlic butter on both pieces of French bread.
Place baking sheet with bread in the oven on high broil with the oven rack in the middle of the oven. Broil for just 2 minutes. Until butter has melted and bread is beginning to toast on the edges.
Remove from the oven and turn the oven to 350 degrees.
Place sliced mushrooms in a single layer on both pieces of French bread.
Place back in the oven at 350° for 12 minutes.
Remove from the oven and turn high broil back on.
Sprinkle the bread with the mozzarella cheese and then the cheddar cheese.
Place back in the oven under the broiler for about 1-1 1/2 minutes to melt the cheese.
Remove from the oven and slice into desired pieces. I slice mine in about 8 pieces per side. Enjoy with your favorite main dish.
