Baked French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Slice French bread and then, cut each piece into four smaller pieces.

  2. Melt butter and pour it into the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish. Set aside.

  3. In a large mixing bowl (large enough for the egg mixture and bread pieces), mix eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon with a whisk.

  4. Place pieces of bread into the egg mixture. Carefully, mix well so each piece is coated in the egg mixture.

  5. Place bread and egg mixture into the 9 x 13 baking dish.

  6. Cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 3 hours or overnight.

  7. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.

  8. Remove from oven, dust with powdered sugar, and serve with your favorite syrup and whipping cream.
