A flaorful and simple soup recipe.
Melt butter in a large pot.
Add the flour to the melted butter, making a roux.
Place tomatoes and juice into a blender and blend until smooth.
Add blended tomatoes to the butter mixture. Stir.
Add V-8, chicken broth, salt, and pepper. Stir and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat. Add half and half, hot sauce, and basil pesto.
Stir and heat through.
Serve hot and top with freshly grated parmesan cheese.
