A grilled cheese sandwich recipe with a twist.
In a shallow 8 x 8 baking dish, whisk together eggs, milk, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder. Mix well.
Dip all of the pieces of bread in the egg mixture and place on a hot griddle.
Cook the bottom sides of the pieces of bread.
Flip each piece of bread over and layer six pieces of sliced cheddar cheese on three of the pieces of bread.
Place the cooked sides of the other three pieces of french toast on top of the cheese layer-making three sandwiches.
Cook the uncooked sides.
Serve with hot tomato soup, if desired. Enjoy!
